Keeping in touch – Sunday 19th April and the week following

It hardly seems possible that tomorrow we are celebrating the Sunday after Easter. Although we are still in lockdown and will be for the next three weeks, somehow time still seems to fly by. We are still very much in the Easter Season and our refrain remains the same

Alleluia, Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed, alleluia!

It has been such a blessing to see and know that so many people are watching our worship that we have been putting out via Youtube, Facebook Live and the other resources. Please feel free to share any of it with friends and family. I know that the prayer bags that Joy Windsor has been producing have been greatly valued, thank you Joy. If you would like one perhaps you would get in touch with her revjoywindsor@gmail.com

For Sunday 19th April I direct you to:

Our Youtube Service which will be available from early in the morning and accessed via this link Sunday Worship 19th April

A short Easter video for the families to watch (or in fact anyone actually) which is produced by The Bible Society and can be accessed via this link

As we go forward we will continue to offer these Worship Services online and we would very much like to be able to see more of our church family as part of them. Perhaps you would like to do one of the Bible readings or lead us in prayers either opening ones or intercessions or have you got a good news story/testimony which we might include – especially from this lockdown period.. To be part of our worship video you would need to be able to film yourself and upload to a Google Drive or something similar – we can help by giving advice on this. If you are interested then do please let me know – I’d love to hear from you.

Our worshipping community is important and it is vital that we retain fellowship during this period of time. Church and faith is about our deep relationship with God through the risen Jesus and also about our deep relationship with each other. Hebrews 10:24-25 says ‘And let us consider how we spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.’ There is evidence that people are reaching out to faith, finding their way back to faith or exploring faith in these days so it is all the more important that we don’t lose our first principles as Christians and the Church.

With love and prayers
Andrew
